I disagree with this: "you have given the masses the opportunity to comment, critique, etc. If people do not want that type of feedback, then they should not be on social networks." You always had the opportunity to comment, critique, etc. No one prohibited you to do it. Why now that they've started a closed social network for their supporters is everyone's tongues tied all of a sudden? If you're THAT interested to hear what they have to say, join the SN and find out. You joined Facebook for similar reasons right? Why not this one?

"If you are to play in the social network world you have to put them in charge and accept that they are" - HUH?! Who the hell said that?! Just who's social network are we talking about here? The DA's? Well now, then it is their choice who and what they want to do and how, not true? If they joined a public network like Facebook it's a different story.

It's great to see people in the SM market speak out companies or as you have been mentioning for sometime - the political use - of social media and provide insights and tips for those using the platforms.

However, as you've noticed, some folks tend to take things alittle personally and get emotional about the "criticism" or feedback they get. With our local politics most things are heavily emotional and we see that all the time reading the papers on how our parties lash out at each other, etc.

I agree 100% with you, that the debate is more the strategy than getting involved in the political side as that is not the intention. I would think that people pointing out areas that can be improved should be taken into consideration, hey, they are making use of social media, you have given the masses the opportunity to comment, critique, etc. If people do not want that type of feedback, then they should not be on social networks. As you said "If you are to play in the social network world you have to put them in charge and accept that they are"

Did you ever get access to their "hidden" community for the response to your posts and comments made?
